Nature Writing and Nature Journaling with Troy Hess

Join special guest presenter, Troy Hess, as he shares ways to explore nature through nature journaling activities for adults.

Troy Hess is a writing instructor and founder of On the Yahara Writing Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The center’s motto is that “everyone can write!”

This is a “no-stress zone” nature writing class through observations and comfortable writing styles. The program has informal classroom setting with an outside practice session for writing observations and sketching along the prairie.


When: Tuesday, August 14, 10 a.m.— 12 p. m.
Where: Upper Mississippi River Refuge Visitor Center on Brice Prairie
What to bring: Bring your pen, notebook, and water. Dress for the sun and weather.
