Friends of the Refuge - Mississippi River Pools 7 & 8 is an official Friends group for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge - La Crosse District.
August 4, 2025 Monday will be Sustain our River- A Watershed Moment to bring together environmentally minded people at Black River Beach Building LaCrosse WI at 11:45. Attendees will be able to engage with speakers and other groups for long term networking efforts related to severe federal funds cuts.

Outdoor Recreation Festival in Veterans Park on Clinton St in La Crosse July 2026 Saturday 12-2. TBD
Waterfowl Overlook Day south of Brownsville on Mississippi River. Friends will be selling souvenirs Nov 8, 2025. Often a Ranger or Naturalist is available 10-2 on first three Saturdays. Typically 10,000 Tundra swans are in the area during the first three weeks in November.
