Friends of the Refuge - Mississippi River Pools 7 & 8 is an official Friends group for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge - La Crosse District.
May 14, 2025 Wednesday will be Refuge Strong Event to bring together environmentally minded people at Concordia Ballroom doors open 6:16pm for tabling and local speakers at 7pm. Attendees will be able to engage with speakers and other groups for long term networking efforts related to severe federal funds cuts.

Waterfowl Overlook Day south of Brownsville on Mississippi River. Friends will be selling souvenirs Nov 8. Often a Ranger or Naturalist is available 10-2 on first three Saturdays. Typically 10,000 Tundra swans are in the area during the first three weeks.
